Coast and Castles route guide released

The 200-mile route winds its way from Newcastle to Edinburgh

A free guide to the Coast and Castles road cycle route has been released.

The 200-mile route links the Forth and Tyne estuaries, starting in Newcastle, passing the Hadrian’s Wall World Heritage site, unspoilt coastline and the beautiful Tweed valley and Scottish Borders coastal towns before reaching Edinburgh. The guide can be downloaded from www.cyclescottishborders.com

Neen Kelly, recreational cycling officer for the Scottish Borders, said: “This is the final one of a series of route guides that we have produced. It can be accessed free online and is quick and easy to print-out.

“The guide provides tips on places to stay and eat, attractions, an overview of the route and links to other useful resources. It forms part of our drive to increase awareness of the fantastic distance cycling routes that are available in the Scottish Borders.”
