Genesis 2009

The Genesis range of bikes, originally a spin-off from the popular Ridgeback model of the same name, has been steadily growing in popularity since its launch just a few short years ago. Its range continues to expand too, and for 2009 the brand releases two new models that will find interest among the RCUK readership.

Croix de Fer £999.99

This bike’s middle name should be versatility, because that’s what it does so well. A Reynolds 520 frameset with double butted seat and chainstays and build comprising Shimano 105 transmission and 35c Continental Speedking rubber ensures no canal towpath, singletrack, broken Tarmac or spot of cyclo-cross is too much to handle.

Day One £469.99

Single speed and fitted with a flat handlebar, the Day One features a Reynolds 520 frame and plenty of clearance for the mud that’ll be thrown about by the 35c Continental Speedking tyres.

Genesis says, “…this is pretty much game for whatever you throw at it, including sitting in the shed caked in mud unserviced until the next trip to the pub followed by a muddy singletrack scoot home (sober of course). “
