Étape Du Tour 2006 – Gap to L’Alpe D’Huez
Monday 10th of July

It’s a ‘Beautiful stage’ of 188km between Gap (Hautes-Alpes) and l’Alpe d’Huez (Isère).
You will discover the legendary climbing of the Izoard, first time ever on the Etape du Tour on this high Queyras summit. The southern slope of the Izoard is the longest one, with 32km between 4% and 11%.

After a short passage in Briançon, you will climb the Lautaret, second big climbing of the route, just near the National Parc of Ecrins.

You will finish your stage by testing yourself on the 21 turns of the mythical climb, the Alpe d’Huez. Ouch.

Etape 2006!

We are pleased to announce we are working again with our friends at Sports Tours International on the L’Etape de Tour. Because of huge demand for the 2005 Etape we have arranged with Peter at Sports Tours International for 50 places to be kept for members of RoadCyclingUK. All you have to do is send your entry to Sports Tours International with a £25 deposit.

Obviously places are limited. Apart from the RoadCyclingUK crew signing up now for next year’s punishment you will be among the first if you do it now. But get a move on if you don’t want to be disappointed.

Please note that the £25 deposit is non refundable if you cancel, but is part of your overall fee.
