Sadly, at the young age of 44, cycling TV cameraman Glen Wilkinson died suddenly last Tuesday at his home in Ashtead, Surrey.
If you’ve watched the Tour de France or any televised cycling events from Australia, the Philippines, Malaysia and Europe – all over the world really – Glenn Wilkinson was probably the lensman who brought the images to your living room.
Sad, that on the day the Tour of Britain route is announced, that we bring this news too. The Milk Race, the Kellogg’s Tour, the Prudential Tour and the new Tour of Britain and many World Cup Races were all excellently captured by Glenn.
Over the years he developed a great partnership with his regular French motor cycle pilot Patrice Diallo, together capturing some excellent pictures and often getting the pictures of the day. He had a good eye for film and an excellent knowledge of bike racing and tactics.
Our condolences go to his partner, Becky and his two sons Jake and Sammy.
