Exmoor Beast organisers launch early-season Exmoor Beauty sportive

The organisers of the Exmoor Beast, one of the UK’s toughest sportives, have launched a new early-season sister-event – the Exmoor Beauty.

The Beast traditionally takes place in late October with a choice of two (100-mile and 100km) unrelenting routes through Exmoor National Park.

The Beauty, on Sunday April 22, is designed to showcase the area’s outstanding scenery without having to battle the Beast’s infamous weather conditions, with a 100km route that takes in parts of both Beast loops.

“The Beauty is more of a social ride but still challenging, with the feed station in the village of Dulverton by the local pub, so the family can enjoy the day too and feel part of the event,” say the organisers.

“Even if you haven’t tamed the Beast, tickling the Beauty is an ideal stepping stone to giving the Beast a go and allowing yourself another two well-earned sportive stripes. Of course there is a discount to enter both.”

Exmoor Beauty entry costs £27, or it’s £50 if you want to tackle both the Beauty and the Beast. More details at www.exmoorbeauty.org
