Pearson Performance Concept Store opens

Some 150 years after their forebear, Thomas Pearson, opened in Sutton High Street, Surrey, the blacksmith’s forge that would become surely the world’s oldest cycle shop, brothers Guy and William have opened a new branch of Pearson Cycles in East Sheen, south west London.

Known as Pearson Performance to distinguish it from the parent outlet, the new store opened officially on Friday 23 September at 232 Upper Richmond Road West. Along with the regular diet of lightweight cycles by Ridley, Serotta and the Pearsons themselves there are Brompton folding cycles for the commuting market plus the wide range of clothing, parts and accessories no self-respecting cycle shop would be without.

In the throes of being fitted out to offer bicycle positioning by CycleFit and physio threatment by qualified therapists, the Pearson Performance Concept Store also boasts that sine qua non of the modern cycle outlet, the coffee bar.
