Putting the disappointment of Het Volk behind him, Belgium’s Tom Boonen unleashed his powerful sprint with 200m to go to win the Belgian semi-classic Kuurne Brussels Kuurne after receiving a textbook lead out from his Quickstep team, which pulled back a nine-man break over the last 10km. Marcel Sieberg, Milram, placed second, with Belgian Iljo Keisse of Chocolade Jacques completing the podium.
