UCI Track World Championships day two: photo gallery

Fans who returned to Melbourne’s Hisense Arena for the second day of the 2012 UCI Track World Championship could be forgiven for feeling a sense of deja vu.

Spectators who witnessed Great Britain’s men’s team pursuit squad defeat their Australian rivals with a record breaking ride to the gold medal yesterday may have sensed history repeating as Team GB’s women’s team pursuit line-up repeated the feat 24-hours later.

Ed Clancy, a member of the triumphant men’s team pursuit quartet, got off to a winning start in the multi-disicpline Omnium with victory in the 250m time trial, while Vicky Pendleton qualified for the semi-final of the women’s sprint, alongside arch rival, Australia’s Anna Meares.
