Of the three desert Tours, the third instalment – the Tour of Oman – is certainly the one for the climbers.
With a varied parcours however, there are plenty of opportunities for the sprinters too, and stage one provided Andre Greipel and Lotto-Belisol with another chance to showcase their phenomenal sprint train.
Not that they had it all their own way however – crosswinds have been a common feature this month and they caused havoc again in Oman.
