Paris-Nice 2014: stage two – photo gallery

Moreno Hofland claims maiden WorldTour win while Nacer Bouhanni remains in yellow

We are only two stages into the second WorldTour race of the season but pro cycling’s top tier has already delivered plenty of drama this season.

From the outstanding solo victory of  BMC Racing’s Cadel Evans after an attack on Corkscrew Hill, to Richie Porte (Team Sky) winning on Old Willunga Hill and Simon Gerrans (Orica-GreenEDGE) taking the overall prize, the Tour Down Under certainly set things up nicely.

And two days into Paris-Nice, the ‘Race to the Sun’ has continued the trend with crashes providing drama by the bucket-load and throwing the GC wide open.

Moreno Hofland (Belkin) sprinted to victory in Saint-Georges-sur-Baulche, while Nacer Bouhanni retained the yellow jersey claimed with victory on stage one, but it was far from a straight-forward day in the saddle for the diminutive Frenchman.

Relive the stage in the full-width gallery of photographer Gautier Demouveaux’s photos below, which we bring you with the kind permission of race organisers, the ASO.
