Tour de France 2014: stage 15 – rider reaction

Reaction as Alexander Kristoff doubles up ahead of final rest day

There are no easy days at the Tour de France, as this year’s race seems to remind us on an almost daily basis.

Despite the length of stage 15, after two brutal days in the Alps there will have been many relieved to see a flat profile with no categorised climbs to speak of ahead of the final rest day.

But rain, slick roads, crosswinds and the grit and determination of a break who refused to be reeled in until the very end made for another surprisingly enthralling, gruelling stage.

The rest day, with just six stages remaining when racing resumes on Tuesday, will certainly be well received by the riders who, as ever, were quick to take to Twitter post-stage.
