RCUK Live at Cadence: photo gallery

The first ever RCUK Live event took place at Cadence Cycling Performance Centre in Crystal Palace, south east London, last Saturday (Dec 1).

A strong presence from the Dulwich Paragon road club featured among those who enjoyed presentations on Campagnolo’s Athena EPS electronic groupset and Shimano’s flagship mechanical offering, the new, 11-speed Dura Ace 9,000 series.

The event was an opportunity to share with a live audience some of the kit we’re lucky enough to test as part of the day job. We travelled to Belgium in April for the press launch of Shimano Dura Ace 9,000 and enjoyed an exclusive first ride on the world’s first production bike with Athena EPS in August: the De Rosa Merak.

Attendees at the first RCUK Live got a chance to try the new Shimano Dura Ace 9000 and Campagnolo Athena EPS groupsets for themeselves, courtesy of Cadence’s Tacx Genius VR trainers

Attendees at RCUK Live got hands on with the groupsets thanks to Cadence’s fleet of Tacx Genius virtual reality trainers, and some tried the Tacx Klimtrainer: a £10,000 ‘rolling road’, currently under development.

Many thanks to all at Cadence, including Mike and Kelda for the pictures, and to Shimano brand manager, Mark Greshon, and Graeme Freestone-King from Velotech UK, for the demonstrations.

We’re already planning the next edition of RCUK Live, so stay tuned for details of the next event.
