Provisional race programme for 2014 London Nocturne announced

Entries open for some races ahead of eighth edition of Smithfield Market event

Entries for some of this year’s London Nocturne races are now open after organisers revealed the provisional race programme.

Taking place on Saturday June 7, the event at Smithfield Market, Farringdon, will once again feature penny farthings and folding bikes aplenty before the elite women and men’s criterium races close the evening.

Crowds of more than 15,000 people packed around the 1.1km circuit at last year’s event, which saw Alex Dowsett narrowly beaten by Tom Scully in the men’s elite criterium race before Laura Trott and Hannah Barnes went head-to-head in the women’s race, with the latter belatedly awarded victory.

Live music, food and a cycling expo will also feature, with Urban Cyclecross, the Leigh Day Kermesse and the Ignitr City Criterium also taking place during the evening.

Entries to the folding bike races, Leigh Day Kermesse, Ignitr City Criterium and penny farthing race are now open.
