Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 sportive ballot closes this evening

Registration shuts at 5pm before 25,000 riders are selected to take on the capital

The public ballot for this year’s Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 sportive closes this evening (Tuesday January 6) at 5pm.

This year’s event, the third running of the sportive, which is the biggest of its kind in Europe, will see 25,000 riders take part in the weekend festival of cycling in the capital.

The ballot for the 2015 RideLondon sportive closes at 5pm

Rolling out of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, the 100-mile, traffic-free route will pass London’s iconic landmarks such as the Houses of Parliament before heading out into the Surrey Hills.

Leith Hill and Box Hill, made famous by the London 2012 Olympic Games, are two of the most notable climbs before the route heads back into central London and onto The Mall.

Anybody hoping to enter the ballot for the sportive – which is due to take place on Sunday August 2 – must do so by 5pm tonight.

A separate ballot for the British Cycling Club Challenge – details of which will be sent out to all British Cycling-affiliated clubs – will be held later in the year for any clubs wishing to enter teams.
