The pave of northern France takes centre stage on Sunday as the 112th edition of Paris-Roubaix takes place.

Fabian Cancellara (Trek Factory Racing) and Tom Boonen (Omega Pharma-Quickstep) are among the riders with the record books in their sights.

We have taken an in-depth look at the route and riders – many of whom were photographed on the course on a recce this week – and also chatted to 2004 champion Magnus Backstedt about what it takes to win the famous race.
