Colnago CX Zero
Colnago CX Zero
The CX Zero comes in two varieties: the CX Zero Evo and the CX Zero Alu which, as you’ve probably guessed, means the former is carbon and the latter aluminium.
The CX Zero has been ridden in spring Classics and has a definite bent towards comfort compared to the other bikes in the range, being Colnago’s endurance/sportive bike. The chainstays have been designed for compliance, and have a noticeable kink towards the dropouts, and the thin seatstays have a similar comfort-enhancing lean.
The geometry is also more forgiving, with a longer headtube setting the rider in a higher position and longer chainstays and wheelbase making the handling slightly steadier.
The CX Zero Evo has four builds: four rim brake and two disc. It goes Dura-Ace, Ultegra, Ultegra mix (Ultegra and 105 with an FSA Gossamer crankset) and 105. The disc options are either Shimano Ultegra Di2 or mechanical Ultegra, both with hydraulic braking. UK availability and pricing is yet to be confirmed for all models, but the 105 version comes in at £2,299.95 and the Ultegra mix at £2,599.95.
The CX Alu also comes in rim or disc brake varieties, and although Colnago haven’t yet released the details for the 2016 bikes, it looks like there will be Ultegra and 105 options available.
