Bianchi Eroica
Bianchi Eroica
If the All Road is Bianchi’s take on a new trend, then the the Bianchi Eroica is at the other end of the spectrum. Bianchi, being Italian and all, have sponsored L’Eroica, the vintage ‘sportive’ held every year in Tuscany (and now with a British version) for a few years and so they’ve gone and made a bike specifically for the event.
After all, if you want to ride L’Eroica then you need a bike from 1987 or earlier, and while this machine wasn’t built back then, it is certified as a vintage machine fit to ride the event.
The frame is crafted in Italy from Columbus Zona with a chrome lugged finish and is paired with an Italian-made steel fork. The frame has a traditionally skinny 1″ headtube, a 27.2mm seatpost and an Italian bottom bracket.
In terms of spec, the frame’s equipped with Dia Compe downtube shifters and brakes, and Campagnolo Silver derailleurs. There’s only one saddle choice and that’s Brooks. The bike will set you back £2,500 and, more than anything, it’s an absolute looker and something a bit different from the norm.
