Riding in the winter, with temperatures dropping and the wind and rain battering you is not much fun, but without a glove it would be unbearable. We have looked at the options out there for less than £20, but if you want some proper protection from the elements it is worth spending a little bit more on a good pair of winter gloves, such as LOOK’s Winterfall offering, pictured below.
Naturally, their options in all manner of shapes, sizes and materials but a good all-rounder will offer insulation, grip and some protection from the rain – although only those made from a bonded fabric like neoprene can truly be considered waterproof. A good cuff is also a must, and the RH+ Nordic Glove, which recently came under our microscope, certainly offers that. Some may find it bulky but we can certainly attest for the warmth it offers – well worth its £50 price-tag. A less bulky, slightly cheaper option is the Northwave Extreme Winter glove at £39.99 – a comfortable, tight fit with a fleece lining but if the mercury is nudging zero a liner glove would be required.
