Oversocks
Oversocks
Oversocks have a dual purpose: to add an extra layer of protection to your feet against the wind, and to keep your shoes clean.
Because both can be a problem in autumn.
Modern cycling shoes are typically well ventilated, with generous mesh panels to allow air in and subsequently to help stop your feet overheating. That’s fine in summer, but things can sometimes get drafty. Oversocks are light enough to add an extra layer of insulation without necessarily compromising breathability.
The quiet country lanes on which we like to cycle can also become caked in dirt and mud after rainfall, too, so oversocks will collect that grime before it hits your pristine cycling shoes. Win-win!
When winter sets in for good, and the temperature begins to tumble, oversocks can be swapped for windproof, thermal booties as there’s little worse than riding for hours with ice blocks as feet.
