Hincapie Arenberg Leg Warmer

Leg warmers are becoming more engineered, or perhaps that’s just our recent experience. While Hincapie’s Arenberg Leg Warmer isn’t quite the multi-seamed creation of Rapha’s equivalent, it is far from a simple lycra tube.

There’s a 150mm ankle zip for a start and above that, a 40mm band of the HyperOptic Roubaix reflective fabric that appears on the shoulders and collar of the Arenberg Zero Vest.

The silicone band at either end is more sophisticated than normal too, at the top at least. Not content with providing a gripper to hold the warmer against the skin, Hincapie has deployed a double-sided band at the top of the warmer to grip the hem of any short with which it’s worn. On paper, this seems like sound thinking, and we’re keen to see how well it works in practice.

The bulk of the warmer is made from a fleece-lined lycra that Hincapie bills as BodE Thermal Loft, and for which they claim insulating and wicking properties.

The Hincapie Arenberg Leg Warmer is available in black or white, and in six sizes from XS to XXL. It costs £30.75.
