Mekk Poggio SE
Mekk Poggio SE
One step up from the Pinerolo is the all new Poggio SE. It’s a price point targeted entry-level carbon bike for anyone with a grand to spend that really wants a carbon ride and won’t settle for anything less.
It comes in two models – the 0.3 and 0.4 – with a £100 price difference between them, the 0.3 coming in at bang on £1,000, and the 0.4 at £1,100. They’re effectively the same bike, except the 0.4 has a 105 groupset to the 0.3’s Tiagra. One price point concession on the 0.3 is the addition of Mekk’s own brand brake calipers, although the addition of a set of Continental Ultra Sport tyres is a nice touch.
Both are topped off with a Selle San Marco Era saddle, and even though the show bikes were all finished with white bar tape, Mekk say that the production models will have black tape as they reckon that it’s a little better for British conditions. Fair point.
