Simon Yates (Orica-GreenEDGE) arrived at the Grand Départ of the 2014 Tour de France as a fresh-faced neo-pro but left after stage 15 having left no-one in doubt that he has a big part to play in future editions of the race.

Refusing to fly under the radar and just "ride around" on his Tour debut, Yates made two mountain breakaways, on stages eight and 14, on this team issue Scott Addict.

The super-light Addict is one of two bikes available to Orica-GreenEDGE riders along with the aero Foil and it's the machine of choice for Yates, who signed for the WorldTour team at the start of the year along with twin brother Adam after a 2013 season which saw him win a stage of the Tour of Britain and finish third overall.

The Addict returned to the Swiss brand's range at the back-end of 2013 with a claim to be the first production frameset (that's frame and fork) to dip below the 1kg mark. We brought you the full tech story behind the Addict here.

But for now, let's concentrate on Yates' machine.
