Sportful BodyFit Pro Evo jersey - review
Sportful's lightweight, race-cut jersey is ideal for everyday summer riding
Sportful’s BodyFit Pro Evo jersey is the workhorse of the Italian firm’s pro-inspired clothing collection. With a lightweight fabric, aerodynamic cut and a smattering of neat features, it’s a good option for summer riding duties, whether you’re a racer, sportive rider or just want a sharp jersey for everyday riding.
The BodyFit Pro line-up, which also includes the warmer Classics jersey for cool conditions and featherweight Light jersey for truly hot weather, takes the clothing provided to Sportful’s two sponsored WorldTour teams, Bora-Hansgrohe and Bahrain-Merida, and offers it to the wider public, without the sponsors logos.
We’ve already reviewed the Classics jersey - ideal for those moody British morning when the temperature refuses to budge past the early to mid teens, thanks to the brushed lining - and have spent significant time in the Light jersey. The BodyFit Pro Evo, as you’d expect, sits in a sweetspot between the two. For typical UK summer conditions, when it’s often neither particularly warm or cold, it’s spot on.
This is still a lightweight jersey, made from an 85 per cent polyester and 15 per cent elastane mix. The low weight and relatively open weave of the fabric means breathability is excellent - if you’re working up a sweat, the fabric will wick moisture away and dry quickly - but on the flip side, if you’re starting out early, you might want a jacket or gilet to keep the wind off your chest until things warm up.
Sportful has a long association with the top level of cycling and that’s reflected in the cut and fit. This is a pro-inspired piece and the fit is suitably slim. However, the cut is spot on, with the various panels aerodynamically hugging the body closely without feeling tight, nor is there any loose or baggy fabric to speak of.

The laser cut sleeves also sit comfortably, staying put without the need for grippers, which can potentially tug on the skin. Same goes for the low neckline, which enables you to fully utilise the zipper without it catching on your neck. Sportful has nailed the cut, as far as I’m concerned, but it is a slim piece, so may not suit all body shapes.

Otherwise, this is a fairly minimalist jersey. Out back, you’ll find three open pockets - all well-sized - but no zipped pocket. While the BodyFit Pro Evo is designed as a race jersey, it would be a useful additional for everyday riding. Below the pockets, a silicone strip holds the jersey in place.
We tested the BodyFit Pro Evo in its blue/yellow colourway, with handy hi-viz detailing on the shoulders and sleeves, although there are also anthracite/red, grey/yellow, raspberry/coral and black/white options.
Sportful’s BodyFit Pro Evo jersey is the kind of piece you’ll use time and again through summer. The important things have been done right, notably the cut and fabric choice, making this a go-to jersey for warm-weather rides.
