FSA K-Force Ergo handlebar (£254.99)
At the other end of the scale from Ritchey handlebar are FSA’s K-Force Ergo bars. FSA have a big pedigree in the pro peloton and various parts of their finishing kit are used by Astana, Etixx Quick-Step, Cannondale-Garmin, Lampre-Merida, Lotto NL-Jumbo and Tinkoff-Saxo. Not bad.
And if you’re after a set of bars to complete a super-light build, the 185g K-Force Ergo bars are among the lightest around from a major brand. They’re a pretty pro setup though, and it’s not only the £254.99 RRP that should clue you in to that. With 150mm drop and 80mm reach, you’ll need a snake-like spine to find a comfortable position on these, especially if you already boast a large saddle to bar drop.
As well as a full carbon/Kevlar composite construction, the bars have a reinforced 31.8mm clamping area in the middle and a double width cable groove to make sure that fitting your cabling under the bar tape is as easy as possible and makes for a comfortable cockpit.
You also have the choice of two colour options so if FSA’s classic red, white and black doesn’t take your fancy then there’s the stealth option of black and grey as an alternative.
