Aero handlebars are one way to improve the aerodynamic prowess of your bike
3T Aeronova Team handlebar (£224.99)
One other direction you can go with your handlebars is aero. If you’ve purchased an aero road bike chances are it may have come with its own set of aero bars (the latest incarnations of Canyon’s Aeroad, Trek’s Madone and Specialized’s Venge are perfect examples). But if it didn’t one way to save a few more seconds is aero handlebars.
3T are experts in aero kit – their bars used to come as standard on Cervélo’s S5, for example – and their Aeronova bars are a smart set of extreme profiled wind-cheaters. With a monster 104mm reach paired to a sensible 127mm drop, the idea behind these is to get you long and low and maximise that aero advantage.
They do okay in the weight stakes as well, coming in at a claimed 220g, not bad for such an extreme shape, and you have a choice of standard or stealth colour options.
They also feature internal cable routing and if you want to go fully integrated and aero you can add the Integra stem with its integrated Garmin mount and aero-profiled front.
