Nail your nutrition
Nail your nutrition
Keep your nutrition simple. There are three key principles: staying hydrated, having enough fuel on board to do your session and to replace what you’ve used during that session afterwards.
You’ve got a very small window after exercise, where the body is like a sponge and ready to soak up nutrients. Don’t wait for two hours to eat after a session by getting home, having a shower, putting your dinner on and then sitting down to eat.

That’s why you have sports nutrition that you can put in your bag or jersey pocket to have straight after the ride, or sometimes even during the session, to take on board as soon as your body needs it. You can then have your normal meal later on but your body has already started that process of repairing and refuelling for the next training session.
You will notice a big difference if you are disciplined in your approach to your diet. It helps you recover faster, you feel better, you can train harder and you can achieve your goals – whatever they are – much quicker. It’s scary how much quicker you can improve, and how much quicker you can recover, if your diet is correct.
