cycling.tv - more live euro racing in 2006

The European Pro season really kicks off this weekend with the suitably Belgian sounding Omloop Het Volk. Weather permitting it should be a chance to see the big guns ride in anger for the first time this year.

Discovery Channel’s Roger Hammond is set to make racing history by being the first Professional rider to use SRM / Cycling.tv’s new live race Telemetry system.

Cycling.tv will start with this Saturday’s Omloop Het Volk where they will be providing users with live on board Telemetry supplied by SRM, the world leaders in mobile power diagnostics for the bicycle.

As he races viewers can watch live data measuring:

Power output in watts

Pedal Cadence

Speed

Heartrate

What Power output does a top pro use in the Peloton? What's their Heart rate like when they're in the break? What speed to do they ride at and when is the cadence is high or low?

Cycling.tv will offer all users an automatic web page providing this live data. This page will open up behind the Cycling.tv Channel Player and users can then switch between the two riders in Omloop Het Volk that are using the system, Team Discovery Channel’s Roger Hammond and a rider with Team Wiesenhof. Users require the latest Java script update which you can get free at www.java.com

The direct link to the live Telemetery data is at www.srmdataserver.de

For Het Volk the ID's will be 1.1 for Hammond and if you change the URL ending to 2.1 you’ll see the data for the Team Wiesenhof rider. Clear? Well if you just want to watch the racing, you can do that too.
