The first Downland Cycles Spring Challenge will take place on Saturday 1 March, starting in Canterbury and overing 100km through some fantastic countryside.

The event coincides with the Downland Cycles 4th Annual Cycle Show to make a full day out in historic Canterbury.

The show will have loads going on during the day, with dealers from Orbea, Cube, Felt, Isaac, Cinelli, Kinesis, Mezzo and Brompton. Attractions include a Kids Club and a Go Ride event, cakes, a virtual hill climb challenge and loads of other stuff. Downland Cycles will be giving away 2 adult bikes and 3 childrens' bikes plus loads of small spot prizes on the day. Sea France are donating a couple of prizes too.

The idea behind the Spring Challenge is to provide riders with some ideal preparation for the bigger challenges to come as the season gets under way, while raising some cash for the Kent Walking Bus and the Crab and Winkle Trust at the same time.

The Downland Cycles Spring Challenge is intended to be just like a mini Fondo. Not a fully supported event, more of a halfway house between a cyclosportive and a reliability ride. It costs just £10 to enter, with all proceeds going to the Kent Walking Bus and Crab and Winkle Trust, and will include:

Choice of rides, either a picturesque 100km route - with routecard or have a ride with your family on the 30km route

Food at the end (tea/coffee, cake)

Registration, toilets and changing at Downland Cycles, which will be open for the day for our 4th Annual Cycle Show
