Steele von Hoff - bound for Britain
Victory on stage four of the race outlined Steele von Hoff’s talents as the Australian criterium champion sprinted to stage victory in Mount Barker.
With Marcel Kittel (Giant-Alpecin) unable to follow-up his People’s Choice Classic win for the second year running, von Hoff was one sprinter to take advantage – which is great news for British team NFTO.
Von Hoff’s green-and-gold bands will be paired with NFTO’s colours in 2015 as he races on the British domestic circuit.
Having lost Adam Blythe to the WorldTour in the winter, it is a bit of a coup for the Herefordshire-based team to have secured such a talented replacement.
Blythe’s year at UCI Continental level ended with an immediate return to the top level of pro cycling, and on his form down under, von Hoff could well follow a similar path after his release from Garmin-Sharp in the winter.
