Another Tour de France over, another Brit on the top step of the podium in Paris. Britain have now accounted for six of the last seven Tour de France wins, Geraint Thomas' 2018 triumph adding to Bradley Wiggins' maiden victory in 2012 and Chris Froome's wins in all intervening Tours minus 2014's edition.

Thomas was simply a class above throughout the three weeks, taking the race lead in the Alps and holding it through the Pyrenees all the way to Paris.

With all the climbing back-loaded into the final two weeks of the Tour, there was plenty of action set against some stunning mountain backdrops on famous ascents such as Alpe d'Huez and the Col du Tourmalet.

Check out 23 of our favourite images from the race in the gallery below, from ASO's photographers Alex Broadway, Pauline Ballet and Marie-Christine Lieu. And if you ever wondered what goes into being a Tour de France photographer, we caught up with Alex before this year's race.
