Not all memorable bike throws involve the bike coming to harm in a ditch, over the barriers or onto the tarmac.
Sir Bradley Wiggins showed at the 2013 Giro del Trentino that his midas touch of the previous year, when he won the Tour de France and Olympic time trial gold, was yet to leave him after suffering a mechanical on the lower slopes of the race’s final climbs.
Throwing the bike away towards the face of the mountain as he waited for a replacement, Wiggins managed to park the machine against a wall in perfect style.
Legendary on the track, on the time trial bike and on the road bike, it seems Wiggins is a dab hand in freestyle bike parking, too.
