It will surprise very few people to learn Mark Cavendish is not a happy man when things don’t go entirely to plan in a bunch sprint.
At the 2010 Tour de France, after a difficult start to the race, the Manxman missed out again on stage four, finishing 12th in Reims.
Unsurprisingly Cavendish wasn’t best pleased on his return to the team bus, caught on camera chucking his bike to the floor before climbing aboard.
The bike throw itself was nothing special, but Cavendish made his feelings clear as a helmet shot out through the open side door of the bus moments later.
Luckily for the Manx Missile’s HTC-Colombia team-mates, Cav put that rage to good use over the next two days, winning both stages on his way to five in total, which he followed with three more and the points jersey at the Vuelta a Espana to cap a fine year.
