As well as boasting the ‘world’s best lead-out man’, Omega Pharma-Quickstep also have the man many believe to the be the world’s best sprinter in Cavendish.
And as the rider who has spent so much time racing both for and against the Manx legend, there is absolutely no doubt.
“We have one of the best sprinters in the world, if not the best,” he concludes. “I think what makes Mark Cavendish stand out is that when he has the opportunity to win, he wins.
“It is not often that he loses. That makes the guy pretty impressive.
“I’ve seen him win from positions that aren’t really possible and that makes him the best rider there is.”
