If Simon Yates’ debut season was impressive, twin brother Adam took it to an even higher level with a stunning year.
Having bagged the white jersey at the Tour de San Luis, the 21-year-old went from strength to strength.
A stage win and the overall title at the Tour of Turkey was followed by fifth overall at the Tour of California – a race won by Sir Bradley Wiggins.
Yates then finished sixth at the Criterium du Dauphine to cement his growing reputation and collected a first one-day win of the campaign at the GP Industria & Artigianato.
A spectacular crash at the Clasica San Sebastian denied him what had looked set to be another big WorldTour result.
Having started –and finished – his first Grand Tour at the Vuelta a Espana, however, there is great excitement as to what Yates can achieve in 2015.
