The Colnago C60 is the latest frame in the companies’ iconic ‘C’ range, which started with the C40 way back in 1994. The frame is made in Italy and continues to use a traditional lugged construction – but the round lugs of the C59 have been replaced by star-shaped lugs and matching tube profiles in a bid to improve stiffness.
Bigger is better as far as the C60 is concerned, with oversized tube profiles throughout and Colnago’s beefy and innovative ThreadFit82.5 bottom bracket, which combines an 86mm-wide shell with removable and replaceable (and, thus, user-friendly) aluminium sleeves that house the bearings. It’s not the lightest frame you’ll find in the RCUK100 at a claimed 1,045g but Colnago say they’ve placed a greater emphasis on stiffness and ride quality. Either way, the Colnago C60, available as a frameset only leaving you to piece together your dream build, will turn heads just as its predecessors have done.
