Donhou Bicycles made their name designing custom frames built to a customer’s exact measurements but now the London-based company has launched the Signature Steel range, available in stock sizes, to offer an accessible route into owning a handmade Donhou frame.
The disc-ready Donhou Signature Steel DSS1 is the first creation out of the workshop. Handmade steel frames may hark back to a bygone era but this is a thoroughly modern animal, built from TIG-welded, oversized Reynolds 853 Pro Team tubing and paired with an ENVE Disc Road carbon fibre fork for an all-up claimed weight of 2,370g for the chassis. Of course, there’s more to a bike than its paintjob, but the deep granite grey with pink to lime pearl fade used on the DSS1 is gorgeous and utterly befitting of the craftsmanship that has gone into the frame. The DSS1 is available in three sizes (54cm, 56cm and 58cm) and comes with a Chris King Inset 8 headset.
Price: £2,295 (frame, fork & headset)
