The Genesis range of bikes, a spin-off from the popular Ridgeback model of the same name, has enjoyed a successful launch and now in its second year has added some new models.

Skyline

The Flyer was a hit with the RCUK team when it was tested earlier this year, and from the number of them we’ve seen on the streets of London it has been a hit in on the shop floor too. While there weren’t any complaints to be levelled at the Flyer, mudguards couldn’t be mounted. So Genesis has introduced the Skyline, an all-new bike for 2008. It’s clearly based on the Flyer, but the Reynolds 520 frame has been tweaked to allow the fitting of a pair of SKS mudguards. The ideal winter training/commuting bike then.

Flyer

There aren’t many changes to the Flyer, the well-priced and great handling bike didn’t really need any changes anyway. That hasn’t stopped the designers from updating the frame with a lighter tubeset, lighter forks and Kevlar tyres for a lower overall weight. Brakes have been updated to Shimano Sora models.

Day 03

Revised and face-lifted for 2008, the Day-series flat-bar bikes offer fast handling, light weight and an inspiring ride for getting around town. With a lighter 6069 ALX-9 frameset and deeper section fork, the Day is even more rapid and smoother. The new Ultegra SL with 10spd flat-bar shifters and RS-20 wheels complete the package.

£999.99

Vapour

The Vapour ‘cross / all-rounder model remains at the same price as last year’s model but is upgraded for 2008 with a Shimano Tiagra HTII double (50/34T) chainset which will help stiffen things up.
