Brailsford has been one of the leaders of British Cyclin since he was first began work there in 1996. In the near two decades since he has helped to build and manage one of the most successful cycling programmes in the world. As programme and performance director he has lead Team GB to success in the velodrome in the 2004, 2008 and 2012 Olympics. During this period he was key in developing the careers of Chris Hoy, Bradley Wiggins, Mark Cavendish, Victoria Pendleton, Laura Trott, and many others.
In 2010 he became manager of Team Sky. In the years that have followed he has overseen the victories of Bradley Wiggins’ and Chris Froome’s in the 2012 and 2013 Tour de France respectively. Under his leadership Team GB finished top of the medal table for the cycling events.
