This, the Squalo helmet, has just arrived from LAS. The Italian helmet manufacturer’s full range is now available from Chicken Cycles.
The Squalo is a lightweight (claimed 260g) and compact design with 29 vents, all wrapped up in a stylish package. It’s a curvy number that exudes the Euro look and, whether or not you find it pleasing, is certainly bold.
Underneath all the curves is a helmet that meets all required safety standards with its in-mould design. Inside is a ‘Veltek’ interior, a fabric with good absorbency levels and the entire unit whips out in one go – it also doubles as an insect net. A lighter weight summer interior with Silver Dry material is included in the box.
Lastly, LAS’s unique Catseyes retention device allows for easy horizontal and vertical adjustment, via a simple wheel dial. Oh, and all LAS helmets are made in Italy.
