The Quickstep seen out training recently, getting the miles in before the spring Classics begin

The weather might be grim in Britain but for the pros it’s a life of luxury as they put their training miles in under some altogether more pleasing weather.

The Quickstep team has been out recently, and it gave us an opportunity to have a closer look at the first debut of the team’s 2008 Specialized bikes. Picture here is Tom Boonen’s Specialized Tarmac SL2, in brand new livery.

The new frame was brought into service part way through the 2007 season, and the spec remains pretty much the same as when the team stopped racing last year. Boonen’s bike is kitted out with a full Campagnolo Record groupset, Roval wheels, FSA aluminium stem with carbon front plate and an unidentified aluminium handlebar and Specialized tubular tyres.
