Daniel Lloyd moves into team management

Daniel Lloyd has moved into team management with IG-Sigma Sport having announced his retirement after nine years as a professional.

Simon Howes, who previously rode for the team, joins as directeur sportif for 2013, with Lloyd appointed as his assistant.

Howes won national time trials, track and road racing medals during his career as a pro, while Lloyd rode for Cervelo TestTeam and Garmin-Cervelo before joining IG-Sigma Sport for a year ahead of the 2012 season. Lloyd will also continue his media commitments within the sport.

Howes said: “I’m delighted to be onboard. I’ve been working on the recruitment of riders for the team in recent months and really looking forward to the new season and getting racing underway.”

Ian Goodhew has also joined as team coach, while Becky Frewing will continue as general manager.
