Manxman gears up for new season at Oliva training camp

With the 2014 UCI WorldTour season just around the corner, cycling’s elite professional teams have begun to fine tune their preparations for the new campaign.

Team Sky are  enjoying their annual retreat to Mallorca, while Omega Pharma-Quickstep, with British champion Mark Cavendish in tow, headed to Oliva, Spain.

As well as providing the opportunity to dust off the cobwebs and clock up the miles, the trip also reunited Cavendish with two former team-mates as they prepare to race together again in 2014.

Former Team Sky climber, Rigoberto Uran, and the Manx Missile’s HTC lead-out man, Mark Renshaw, were also at the camp – with sport anddevelopment manager Rolf Aldag claiming the chance to meet up and ride together for the first time was vital for team bonding.

Check out the team in action below, in this gallery of Tim de Waele’s images, which we bring you with the kind permission of Omega Pharma-QuickStep.
