Got the winter blues? The first CX Sportive will take place on January 30 to reignite that competitive streak.

With many roads under ice and mountain bike trails covered in snow, the CX Sportive in Woodcote, near Reading, will provide the perfect test to the crosser in your stable.

The course mixes winding back roads with byways, tracks and a short tougher and more technical off road links – 80km, 60km and 40km courses are on offer.

Your choice of steed will define your ride. Will the versatility of an MTB offer the best performance over mixed terrain? Will the pure speed of a road bike make up for time lost on the short, occasional off road dismounts? Or will the cross bike give you the best return where it counts?

The route will be fully marked, with electronic timing and food and drink to reward weary riders.
