Tacx unveil Booster power trainer

Tacx have unveiled the Booster power trainer, as used by Rabobank, Vacansoleil-DCM, Omega Pharma-Lotto, Quick Step, Leopard-Trek, Saxo Bank-Sungard, RadioShack and Astana at the Tour de France.

Leopard-Trek were among eight teams to use the Tacx Booster at the Tour de France

The Tacx Booster is designed with one purpose in mind – to create power – thanks to eight magnets built into the flywheel to form a brake that is more powerful than the existing Satori trainer, allowing the rider to generate high power at low speeds.

“The Booster will maintain our position as leader in the field of cycle trainers and also demonstrates Tacx’s innovative power,” said Tacx’s Henk Remijnsen. “We now have the most powerful brake unit for a cycle trainer.”

The Booster is also the official warm-up trainer for the Olympic Games and the UCI World Championships but will be available to the public for £289.99 from mid-August.
