During the inaugural Cent Cols Challenge in the French Alps last September, I was fortunate enough to ride Independent Fabrication’s then all-new Corvid.
The frame marked the company’s first all-carbon frame, a departure from the elegant steel and titanium offerings that IF’s reputation had been built on.
And now, for the cyclo-cross fans reading this, has come news that IF has been working on a prototype Corvid cyclo-cross frame. It’s still in development but is built using the same tube and lug approach, with the tubes sourced from ENVE Composites and put together in the company’s Somerville, US workshop.
There are some changes to the still-in-development frame, such as press-fit 30 bottom bracket and compatibility with Shimano’s Di2 electronic groupset, and a headtube that accepts a large diameter InSet headset.
As of now IF haven’t thought of a name for the new offering. Think we can help them out?
