The New Forest Cycle Festival will take place on the weekend of October 2-3 with events on offer for fans of both slick and knobbly tyres alike.

The weekend – part of the nationwide Wiggle Super Series – kicks off on Saturday with a mountain bike/cyclo-cross event, with 44 mile, 25 mile and 10 mile routes on offer.

A hill-climb in the afternoon over a one kilometre course near Brockenhurst provides the perfect warm-up to Sunday’s sportive.

Three routes are on offer – the Epic 100 mile ride, the Standard 66 miler or the 44 mile option – and all three have to conquer the 25 per cent Blissford Hill.

Entry fees include electronic timing, feed stations, free sports nutrition, event photography, bike wash facilities and sign-posted courses.
