Trek launches Go By Bike Campaign

For the second year running Trek are running their Go By Bike Campaign. First run in 2009 to encourage people to take up cycling either for recreation or commuting, the campaign then consisted of special offers available to customers, along with basic information on the key benefits of cycling.

For 2010, Cycling Advocacy is a key part of the campaign, which is being run by Trek in partnership with the London Cycling Campaign (LCC), Cyclists Touring Club (CTC) and Sustrans.

From May 28th to June 30th, customers who purchase a Trek bike will be offered free membership of either the LCC or CTC with additional support from Sustrans and Trek dealers. Purchasing customers will also get a free helmet from Trek and a Sustrans “Free your Bike” information pack.

Andrew Griffin, Marketing Manager at Trek, said, “The Go By Bike Campaign offered an opportunity to support specific organisations who in turn could help support the customer, especially those new to cycling. We wanted to provide the customer with more than a bike when they leave the store. Providing free membership to these organisations allows the customer access to more cycling information and support than you could wave a stick at and, in turn, the customer is supporting the organisations involved.”
