Cannondale’s first helmet range has arrived in the UK, with four lids to cover everything from road racing to commuting.
All four helmets, adjusted with a micro-dial, are made from dual density EPS, with an internal nylon chassis to help keep that expanded polystyrene intact during impact, while the Polycarbonate outer shell is fused with the EPS body to create a one-piece design.
The two most expensive models also have SI Alloy Reinforcement Bridges, or aluminium plates that span several vents under the shell in key locations to provide further reinforcement.
The top-of-the-range lid, named the Teramo, will hit the shops at £69.99 and weighs just 245g, with 23 air vents. For mountain bikers, the Ryker then comes in at £49.99 and has larger vents for improved air circulation at low speed. The Ryker’s graphics are embedded into polycarbonate shell, so they won’t chip or scrape off.
The £39.99 Radius is described by Cannondale as being “the perfect low profile, in-town helmet, that transitions to ‘weekend warrior’ duty.” And finally, the £29.99 Quick is designed with commuters in mind.
