Revolution is the in-house brand of the Edinburgh Bike Co-Operative, with a range comprising of anything from complete bikes to tyre levers – and this bike storage stand.
Now, I live in the cramped conditions of London, and, not being on the property ladder with a place to call my own, I am always having issues about where to fit my wheels in. Step in what has come to be possibly the most useful cycling product I own.
The Revolution Storage Floor to Ceiling Bike Stand is able to hold two bikes, with a weight limit of 44lbs on each rack. Installation is largely tool-free – extend the pole until it touches the ceiling, fine-tune the stand using the foot plate at the bottom, lock the quick release and tighten the grub screw and torque up the mounts using the Allen keys provided. It went up in a jiffy, is suitable for ceiling heights of between 190cm and 330cm, and is very stable thanks to the 5kg aluminium tubing – but be wary of placing too much pressure on plaster board.
If you want to keep rubber off the ground and need that extra space which was previously occupied by bikes, this offers a ready-made solution. The £89.99 price tag is good for the build quality, and, for those who want to use it in the garage of shed, it can also be bolted to the floor and ceiling.
