Cotic reveals cyclo-cross bike

Cotic’s new CX bike

Renowned for its Roadrat, British-based Cotic has expanded its range into the world of cyclo-cross with the revealing of the CX at the London Cycle Show last week.

The CX, made from 853 Pro Team tubing and featuring a 35mm seat tube, horizontally-ovalised top tube, two sets of bottle mounts on the down tube and weighing 3.7lb, has been built especially for sponsored rider Kate Potter. She needed a ‘cross bike for racing on this winter and the CX was hastily built.

As a result, only two exist in the world, and there aren’t plans to put it into production until winter 2010. There’s some nice touches revealed with a closer look, such as the wishbone rear end, various gussets and socket dropouts. When it does go into production, the frame will probably have a disc mount,
